Miss Atalya Baumer is an independent choreographer and a western dance teacher who has been living and teaching in India in the past four years. She was born in 1982 in Kibbutz Haogen in Emek Hefer, Israel. She spent most of her childhood in the Kibbutz and part of her adult life.
She received her B.Dance (B.A in Dance) and her teaching certificate from The High Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem. She is a certified teacher in Ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, improvisation and choreography for all ages and has been heavily trained in various contemporary techniques, Improvisation, Gaga, Graham, Cunningham and Ballet. She also graduated from “Kelim” – a one year choreography course in Bat Yam – Israel.
After 6 years of working in the field of dance In Israel, in January 13 she traveled to India In order to peruse dance in India. In the past years, Atalya has been teaching dance, choreographing and doing different dance and art projects in several cities in India – Mainly Bangalore and Mumbai, but also Delhi, Puna, Hyderabad, Guwahati and more. Atalya has been working with big institutes and companies in India such as Attakkallari, Terence Lewis Dance Company and Academy, The Danceworx, Gati, India Ballet and The Kha foundation. At the same time she has been working with smaller groups and schools and been working on projects with freelance dancers from Mumbai and Bangalore.
Atalia headed the Fococo project and the fluid training program in Bangalore in 2016-2017.
